A great and successful Holstein Pedigree
Champs Sire Chamonix , a graded stallion of the Holsteiner Verband, brown, (1,69m) , breeded by K.Siegmund in Heide, completed his stallion performance test in Medingen in 1993 with a total score of 103,26 (Dressage .93,89 , Jumping 107,65 ). Chamonix was sold to California, USA and became multiple times Hunter-Champion.
Chamonix is a son of the Holstein Champion of grading Caletto II, the most regarded son of Cor de la Bryere. Caletto II was standing at stud for four seasons only. When he was 6 years old he had a deadly accident, but he did not leave without leaving behind a respectable number of high class sport horses, from who the gold medal winner of Barcelona, Classic Touch ridden by Ludger Beerbaum , is the most well known one.
The graded sons from Caletto II are Chamonix, Caretino, Corleone, Cascadeur, Calvin, Cadillac, Cellebrio, Calgary and Calwahn.
Caletto II is also the Sire of the Dam of Dobel`s Cento, the exceptional successful show jumper. His Grand Dam Lady Legende was also very successful in show jumping competitions. Together with Lord she brought the Holsteiner Verband stallion Ligorett, who is the Sire of Feldblume - Champs Grand Dam. Ligorett is standing at stud in Denmark. Lady Legendes Sire Liguster was Champion of the Holstein grading and was a three quarter brother of Lamour, who also became Champion of Grading. Lady Legende ridden by Reiner Hidde has win the Grand Prix in Rome.
Caletto II´s Sire, the epoch making Anglo Norman Cor de la Bryere, has founded an own stallion line in the Holstein breeding area with Caletto I – III , Calypso I – V and Corlando I – III, just to mention some of the most important stallions and he has leaved behind numerous successful progeny, whos lifetime winnings is mentioned in the Annual Breeding Book of the FN with more than 3 million Euro.
Corrado I, a Cor de la Bryere son as well, has been ridden by the Olympic rider Franke Sloothark.
On one´s mother side Champs Grand Sire Caletto II is descended from the “Magic Mare” Deka. Five graded sons, who all became Top – Hereditary and numerous high-class daughters, came off her. Deka comes from the Holsteiner Breeding Line Chapot (730b), which shows up with an unusual performance density. Out of this breeding line more than 60 graded stallions as well as numerous show jumping and dressage horses came off. The main breeding line mare is the well known mare Venezia, who has win silver in the team competition at the Olympic Games in München in 1972, ridden by Dr. Josef Neckermann and she has win the bronze medal in the single competion class.
